Adaptable is a word, I would choose for Nathan. Went to work young. Had to go to a new school. Pick new friends. Survive the constant harassing from the local police. He just knew what it took to survive.

What lesson did you learn from the story?

Doesn't matter, where you come from, only where you are going.

Do any characters grow or change during the course of the novel?

I believe all the characters change in several different ways.
Do well under pressure. Have goals. Started working outside the home at a very early age. Studied hard to get into a good university.
